Math has been one of the great joys and the great challenges of my journey through college.  I am a non-traditional student, with a twenty year gap in between the math that I loved and excelled at in high school and the math I have encountered at Salt Lake Community College.  I tested into Math 1010 through the Accuplacer test, but I knew that in order to be successful in Math I would need a more broad understanding and foundation before tackling this subject. And so I began my math journey. Long hours of preparatory math were put into gaining that foundation, but it was worth it. And because of that foundation, and the sweat and the tears required to gain it, I have truly enjoyed the coursework required for Math 1010.  I was also fortunate enough to have an amazing instructor, John Schweitzer, who's teaching methods and enthusiasm for his craft were instrumental in my success. Attached is a copy of one of the required projects from this class.
